ABOUT ME

My approach to therapy is grounded in narrative therapy, as I believe in the power of reshaping personal stories to foster growth and healing. Additionally, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor my work to each client’s unique needs.

My experience includes working with a diverse range of clients, from young children and teens to older adults. I have experience with the following:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • Eating Disorders
  • Autism
  • Families
  • Relationships
  • Parent-child conflicts

I am also trained in Gottman Level I and will soon advance to Level II training, enabling me to provide evidence-based support for couples and families.

I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University and serve as an intern at Miami Counseling & Resource Center.

Originally from Nicaragua, I am fluent in Spanish and passionate about helping clients from various backgrounds find healing and connection. I have a love for animals especially horses which I ride on weekends, and enjoy exercise and weight lifting.

It is an honor to hear your story and walk alongside you on this journey—email me to take the first step (katherine@miamicounseling.com).
