Mary Mahrou, Ph.D., Psychologist

Dr. Mary Mahrou has a doctorate in psychology and is licensed as a clinical psychologist.  She has extensive experience treating a wide range of issues, including:mary-mahrou

She strives to provide a nurturing environment where individuals learn the skills to achieve the desired changes in their lives and in turn gain an improved quality of life.  Dr. Mahrou believes that every person, regardless of age, deserves the opportunity to live their best life.

Dr. Mahrou also is specialized in neuropsychology and psychological testing.  She has extensive clinical experience with evaluating Alzheimer’s, dementia, and depression in the elderly.  At the later stages of life there are often many challenges that families encounter and Dr. Mahrou offers guidance and support to her client’s specific needs.

From her extensive training and experience in testing and assessment, Dr. Mahrou also has developed substantial experience with Gifted Testing for the public school systems.  She works with children that have been identified in the classroom as advanced in learning potential and performs IQ testing to verify the child’s cognitive strength.  For more information on gifted testing please refer to the website section on testing and assessment.

Dr. Mahrou earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Pepperdine University, and her Masters and Doctorate in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Detroit Veterans Hospital with a specialty in neuropsychological assessment and her post-doctoral training at Scott & White/Texas A&M University.
